Arrowmont offers an opportunity for artists of all skill levels to experience the joys of exploration and discovery. Learn new skills as you experiment with various media in an environment rich with inspiration. Stay on our beautiful campus to fully immerse yourself in imagination.

Escape to Arrowmont for Inspiration

Enjoy a concentrated experience working side-by-side with other artists and instructors, expanding your creativity and learning new skills in our weekend, one-week and two-week sessions.

Workshops are available in various media, including clay, textiles, wood, metal, paper, sculpture and more. Classes are open to students 18 or older, at all skill levels (unless indicated otherwise). Our workshops are small, 10-12 students of varied skill levels but filled with creativity. Instructors are nationally and internationally recognized studio artists and faculty at colleges and universities.

Feel the Magic of Arrowmont

Arrowmont is more than the opportunity to study with leading, nationally-recognized artists. It’s a moving adventure in inspiration, and our workshops are only the beginning. Enjoy a peaceful retreat on our 13 wooded acres at the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s just a short trip to the wonders of the park or into the fun of downtown Gatlinburg.

Although you may choose to stay off campus in the Gatlinburg area, most students prefer to live on campus in order to take full advantage of the immersion opportunity and spend as much time as possible in the studio. Campus housing options include single, double, triple and dormitory rooms, and includes all meals in the Staff House Dining Hall.

Tucked into a 13-acre, wooded hillside, the Arrowmont campus is a beautiful retreat sure to inspire your artistic growth. Perched on the edge of spectacular Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we’re also just a quick trip into downtown Gatlinburg. It’s the best of both worlds, with shopping, entertainment and unforgettable scenery all around you.

We believe that the joys of art and creativity are for everyone. Arrowmont is committed to making arts education available to as many people as possible. We work diligently toward creating an inclusive, anti-racist, diverse arts and crafts community that welcomes and supports everyone. We strongly encourage BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, individuals with disabilities, and non-artists to apply. We offer a number of internships as well as scholarships to provide workshops at a reduced cost. Scholarships provide partial or full coverage for tuition, housing and meals. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and other criteria depending on the source of the funds.
